About Generations 4 Change

Carol Lee Redhouse Deed

Carol Lee Redhouse Deed is a proud member of the Southern Ute Tribe from Ignacio, Colorado, with ancestral ties to the Diné, Canadian Cree, Chippewa, and Blackfeet Nations. Her maternal heritage is Spaniard background. Rooted in the values of education, culture, and resilience, she grew up on the Southern Ute Reservation and now resides in Laveen, Arizona, with her husband and two daughters.

Her upbringing, shaped by both the grounding force of basketball and the challenges of witnessing alcoholism and domestic violence, inspired her lifelong commitment to healing, leadership, and service. These early experiences continue to guide her path as she works to create spaces where others can find support and strength.

Professionally, Carol brings over a decade of experience in direct services with marginalized women and youth. She has worked in women’s shelters, youth group homes, and behavioral health programs, supporting survivors of domestic violence as well as youth and adults navigating mental and behavioral health challenges. She has also managed behavioral health residential homes for youth, gaining first-hand insight into the unique needs of young people facing adversity.

Her journey into co-founding Generations 4 Change is deeply connected to the intersection of her cultural upbringing and her dedication to fostering healing, empowerment, and resilience among marginalized communities. She believes that Indigenous Worldviews carries profound wisdom and practices that can guide and enrich approaches to mental and behavioral health in the modern world.

Carol holds dual undergraduate degrees in Communications and Family & Human Development from Arizona State University, a Master’s degree in Organizational Development & Leadership from Fielding Graduate University, and is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Human Development with a concentration in Inclusive Leadership for Social Justice at Fielding. Through her leadership, she is committed to uplifting youth, empowering women, and bridging traditional knowledge with contemporary approaches to create meaningful community transformation.
